SURF MUSEUM IN TENERIFE

LA CAPILLA DEL SURF,
A TRIBUTE TO A CENTURIES-OLD CULTURE

The Tourism Department of the Excmo. Ayuntamiento de La Laguna opens with enthusiasm La Capilla del Surf, a space that aims to reflect the impact of surfing at a general cultural and social level, and especially in the region of Bajamar and Punta del Hidalgo in Tenerife. A comprehensive look at how a sports practice transcends its limits and shapes societies, behaviors, experiences and philosophies of life.

What you will find in this surf museum

A collection of items linked to the history of surfing in the Canary Islands and in the rest of the world. From surfboards built decades ago, modern boards, accessories that helped improving the way of surfing, to movies, books, postcards and other graphic pieces.

This collection of objects, donated by TATO SURF COLLECTION, will immerse any visitor in an educational tour, in which they will discover how from the Hawaiian Islands in the eighteenth century surfing began to expand throughout the world.
