Wooden board, about 1971. Made by “Juan El Velero”. Representative model of the own development of surfing in our islands. The fishermen and residents of Punta del Hidalgo and Bajamar, connoisseurs of the coast and the shore, played with the waves with the leftover wood from the fishing boats. In this case, the board achieves a higher level of development by using more stylized shapes and a specific type of wood. Particularly, this board belongs to the first surfing crew in the Bajamar area, identifying themself through the shamrock. They even produced some boards due to the popularity of this new sport.
